I have previously reviewed WordPress and compared the pros and cons of the “free” WordPress.com and self-hosted WordPress.org blogs. Remember that a blog is really just a website which is easy to update.
The WordPress blogging platform is free open source software for all (both personal and commercial) to use, lucky for us! It’s also called a content management system (CMS), but don’t get hung up on these terms.
It’s very user friendly, most Hosting companies provide WordPress installation at the click of your mouse.
As I’ve mentioned before there are heaps of free resources for WordPress, like free themes which will make your site look unique.
It’s extremely easy to add content like articles, video and audio.
Plus, there are thousands of plugins which “extend the functionality” of WordPress making it do whatever you need (well almost).
WordPress creates sites which are Search Engine Optimized and follows web standards, making them SEO friendly, and of course search engines will love your relevant, fresh content. Good Google placement ensures lots of targeted free traffic.
It really is the only way to go to get started online. You can do it almost immediately. and get started making money. Plus you can be creative, self-sufficient and in control of your sites look, feel and content.
There is a lot of support from the WordPress community (but you do have to search for it), however, as a time saving quick start and guide to doing things the right way from the start you should consider getting expert help using an online course.
Here’s a summary of one package I can recommend – SEOPressFormula (of course there is a money back guarantee) and you get instant access:-
